Blackhawk Works LLC Reviews

I would like to say that this tree removal service was completed in a very professional manner. They completed all work and clean up in a timely manner. We had five large trees removed in a very tight residential location. Left log were stacked, and cut perfectly for wood burning. All brush was cleaned up and not any twigs left behind. I would highly recommend Blackhawk Works to anybody!

If I could give these guys zero stars for their tree cutting and dirt work, I would! What a nightmare they were to do business with! From the moment they drove up onto my property, tearing out my coax cable that spanned down to my satellite dish with their heavy equipment loaded on the trailer, it only got worse from there! The tree cutters downed a tree directly onto my power pole, damaging the metal electrical box, they hit the corner of my house with the dozer or front end loader, they drove heavy equipment all over my septic system, they billed me for 200 yards of pit run they never picked up plus all the trucking fees, they billed me for $750 worth of Typar they never laid down, they capped my driveway with Polar Fines (thee cheapest material available) rather then the 2 inch minus +FRT that I had ordered and paid for, they tore out all of the coax cables to bot homes on the lot and then tried to hide one in the flower bed, they ripped up all the cables to the main house even after they promised they would hand dig around them when they located the foil safety marker, they fused to move a small storage shed and take down trees they had previously agreed to move, they didn't trench my bank below the slope they had created (which later led to flooding and pumping down my driveway), and worst of all...they gave me 1/2 the amount of parking they had promised and billed me for in the contract. They also piled dirt in yard up over the siding on my house which is a violation of the codes that keep water from leaking into the basement. Making all of those things worse, the hydoseed they used on the front yard was mostly weeds rather than lawn grass and the hillside slope they hydroseeded with was a beautiful green grass the first summer but it never grew back the next summer. I suspect they mixed up the bags of seeds between the front yard and the back wall slopes. The grass on the slopes simply laid over and died and did not return, leaving my driveway with a dead brown grass that nothing can grow through. I had originally hired this company because they promote themselves as Veteran owned and I had hopes they would honor their work and not rip me off. Little did I know what I had signed up for! After much battle, they agreed to repair damages they had made, replace materials with what I had ordered, and refund me for materials not used. What was to be a 3 day job, turned out to be 9 days total. The following summer when the grasses did not grow back as they had promised and the hillside began to slough away because the root bed was dead, I then drove out to North Pole to speak with the owner, Derek. He cared very little about my experience with his company and showed little remorse for the poor quality of work that was done. Instead he told me he did not want to get involved and suggested I reach out to Cody who had done the work. This is not quite what you want to hear from a business owner. Since I had already spent the previous summer dealing with Cody and feeling like I had been ripped off and taken advantage of, I asked Derek if he could deal with it. Nearly six months later and I have not heard a word from any of them. If you are thinking of hiring these jokers...I'd strongly encourage you to find another business!

Outstanding. I had them out to take down some trees that were leaning towards my house and other small buildings. It was a pleasure to watch the team work. They were professional, felled the trees safely and were quick. Price was very reasonable. I’ll have them back to do future work.

Recommendations before choosing a Tree Removal Service

  1. Check the company’s reputation and customer reviews: Look for tree removal companies with positive reviews and a solid reputation. Reading real customer experiences will help you understand the quality of their work, professionalism, and reliability.
  2. Confirm what is included in the tree removal service: Make sure you clearly understand what is included in the price, such as stump removal, debris cleanup, limb chipping, and any additional fees for large or hazardous trees.
  3. Ask about safety measures and equipment: Find out what safety protocols and equipment are used, including protective gear, rigging systems, and whether crew members are trained in industry-standard safety practices.
  4. Verify licensing, insurance, and coverage options: Ensure the company is properly licensed to operate in your state and carries both liability insurance and workers’ compensation to protect you in case of property damage or on-site injuries.
  5. Request a written quote and service agreement: Always ask for a written quote and review the service agreement carefully so you are clear about pricing, the scope of work, and cancellation or rescheduling policies.
