Greg Weinert's Tree Services Reviews

Caleb Geselman (5)
Very professional tree service. Our yard was cleaned up well. They took precautions to ensure they didn't damage the yard. Greg was kind and willing to answer any questions I had. I was also quoted a great price.

I had an 80' cottonwood tree right next to my driveway and west of my pole barn and house. Every spring, this tree would unload boatloads of its floating "cotton" seeds. With my pole barn and half of my drive being directly downwind, it made for pure havoc on the drive and inside the pole barn. It was a nightmare trying to get rid of the thick white droppings. I decided this year that it was time to get rid of the nemesis. My neighbor recommended Greg's service because he had used his services in the past. Greg was my first call. He came out promptly, was very friendly and was also very knowledgeable about my tree situation. He noticed that I had about six identical trees lining the side of my driveway next to the one that I wanted taken down. He educated me to the fact that only female cottonwoods shed the nasty cotton and seeds. I was fortunate that all of the others were male trees and not females. Greg gave me a quote and said that he could come out at the end of August. (He came out in June, originally). I told him to keep me on his calendar unless he heard back from me. After Greg came out, I gathered a few more quotes from other services because I had no idea what the cost might be. It turned out that Greg's quote was not the lowest, but it was very competitive. I decided to stick with Greg because he was very prompt, down to earth and he really knew his stuff. On September 3rd, very close to the day he anticipated, Greg and his crew came out to remove the tree. They made quick work of dropping that 80' tree right where they wanted it to fall. I was really nervous because it dropped within 20' of my house. Somehow they knew that it would fall safely in my yard away from the house. They then proceeded to break down the tree with chain saws, shredding most of it, and then hauling the shreds and stumps away. They were here and gone within 90 minutes and they cleaned up the yard and the drive very nicely. I was very happy that I chose Greg's service for my tree removal and I would highly recommend him to anybody.

Recommendations before choosing a Tree Removal Service

  1. Check the company’s reputation and customer reviews: Look for tree removal companies with positive reviews and a solid reputation. Reading real customer experiences will help you understand the quality of their work, professionalism, and reliability.
  2. Confirm what is included in the tree removal service: Make sure you clearly understand what is included in the price, such as stump removal, debris cleanup, limb chipping, and any additional fees for large or hazardous trees.
  3. Ask about safety measures and equipment: Find out what safety protocols and equipment are used, including protective gear, rigging systems, and whether crew members are trained in industry-standard safety practices.
  4. Verify licensing, insurance, and coverage options: Ensure the company is properly licensed to operate in your state and carries both liability insurance and workers’ compensation to protect you in case of property damage or on-site injuries.
  5. Request a written quote and service agreement: Always ask for a written quote and review the service agreement carefully so you are clear about pricing, the scope of work, and cancellation or rescheduling policies.
