A Wicked Good Tree Service LLC Reviews
DJ Ingerson
I have had Joel come out and help me take care of the mature oak and fruit trees on my property multiple times. The prices are fair and he listens when you want to maintain tree health. He personally removed mistletoe from a mature oak! Others just wanted to cut down my trees or would ask why I wanted to save them. Anytime I need professional tree trimming or removal, I’ll be calling Joel.

I had been looking for a tree service to cut some limbs on a Pecan tree in my backyard that were growing close to my roof. I spoke with 2 other companies before I noticed Joel’s truck driving down Frederick Blvd in Portsmouth one Saturday. The first thing that grabbed my attention was the name of his company, Wicked Good Tree Services. I knew he had to be a New Englander because hardly anyone uses the word “wicked” down here in relation to something being good. If you know, you know. Then I noticed that his phone number started with 603 – the New Hampshire area code. Being from Massachusetts, attending college in New Hampshire and still having family in both MA and NH, I took a mental note to look him up online and see if he had a website (which he does). I reached out to him via email at first, and he responded in a timely manner via text to schedule a free estimate. Long story short, I ended up needing to cancel due to sickness. Joel called me a few days later to ask how I was and if I wanted to reschedule the estimate yet. I told him I needed a few more days and he was more than willing to let me reach out to him when I was feeling better. About a week later, I felt much better and reached out to him via text to schedule the estimate. He was able to stop by my house after completing some other estimates and he was very easy to speak with, and he did not try to upsell or get me to change my mind on what I wanted done. He seemed to be honestly interested in hearing my concerns, brought a laser measuring tool to find out the height of the branches I would need cut and gave me an extremely fair estimate within 10 minutes. He offered to come the next day to cut the limbs, and I accepted. The next morning, he arrived as promised, however I had forgotten to unlock my back gate, so he called me to let me know he was there and I ran home from work to let him in the yard. He was very understanding and did not seem upset at the 10-15 minute delay to get started on the job. When I came home from work later that afternoon, there was much more light coming down to the back yard and the piles of branches were neatly stacked in the back corner. Joel left the area clean and tidy, and my fence locked up as I requested. He was kind, courteous, gave an extremely fair rate and I will definitely keep his business card on my fridge to call when I need additional tree work done and I will recommend him to anyone who is looking for tree service. Thanks so much Joel!

- Ask about safety measures and equipment: Find out what safety protocols and equipment are used, including protective gear, rigging systems, and whether crew members are trained in industry-standard safety practices.
- Verify licensing, insurance, and coverage options: Ensure the company is properly licensed to operate in your state and carries both liability insurance and workers’ compensation to protect you in case of property damage or on-site injuries.
