Central & Northern Wisconsin Stump And Tree Reviews
Mary Derby
Proceed with caution with this company. Last fall Roger knocked on our door to solicit our business. He heard that we were looking for a company to take down 7 pine trees in our backyard. Roger provided us with an estimate. He wanted 1/2 down before he started the project. I agreed to give him $200 to secure his services. Shortly after they started the project I gave him the remaining 1/2 down. Along with damaging our clothes line pole & chain link fence they took the 7 trees down over several days. They had trouble grinding the stumps with their grinder so he had to look for another grinder which took more than 1 day. Before the grinding was completed we ended up getting lots of rain that froze. With a promise to finish the stump grinding in the spring Roger requested the remaining money. Like a fool I paid him the remaining money trusting that he would keep his word and finish the project. This spring my husband has left him countless phone messages because he didn't receive a call back. Per my request my husband attempted to call Roger again on Friday evening of 5/10/19 in which he answered. He told my husband he would come on Monday 5/13/19 to finish. He or his company has never showed up or called. Earlier this week I left him a phone message. He has not returned my call either.

We had a couch and ottoman that we needed removed from our apartment because we've now moved into our house.

Recommendations before choosing a Tree Removal Service
- Check the company’s reputation and customer reviews: Look for tree removal companies with positive reviews and a solid reputation. Reading real customer experiences will help you understand the quality of their work, professionalism, and reliability.
- Confirm what is included in the tree removal service: Make sure you clearly understand what is included in the price, such as stump removal, debris cleanup, limb chipping, and any additional fees for large or hazardous trees.
- Ask about safety measures and equipment: Find out what safety protocols and equipment are used, including protective gear, rigging systems, and whether crew members are trained in industry-standard safety practices.
- Verify licensing, insurance, and coverage options: Ensure the company is properly licensed to operate in your state and carries both liability insurance and workers’ compensation to protect you in case of property damage or on-site injuries.
- Request a written quote and service agreement: Always ask for a written quote and review the service agreement carefully so you are clear about pricing, the scope of work, and cancellation or rescheduling policies.
