Excellent work! Joe was over immediately to take a look at the job we requested. He came and accessed again the day before the job. This showed me right away he wanted to do it right. Him and his helper were very friendly, polite, and quiet while they worked. My kids even slept through some of the job. He was also very considerate of the street and foot traffic on our road as he worked. They did a nice job cleaning up (never left a mark in our lawn from equipment) and even gave us a referral for a stump grinder. We will definitely be calling him again when we need more tree service.

The stump was ground super deep getting all the roots while keeping all the wood chips collected. He even made sure the hump that naturally develops around a tree was leveled. If you are looking for shrub, tree or root removal, I highly recommend Merlin of KingsGard Tree Service of Cedar Rapids. I called many places for a free estimate. Merlin impressed us by his prompt and confident response. He showed up right away and answered our questions and gave us speedy service working by himself. He guided me with all the questions and concerns I had and went the extra mile doing extra things like trimming the dead branches off our tree, when he was originally there to take out a bunch of damaged/dying shrubs. He went to great lengths to leave our yard looking good. He even cleaned up the street in front of our house which had some debris from hauling away a big flatbed of shrubs for us. He paid great attention to detail in his work, offering suggestions of what we could do for future landscaping where the shrubs were. I really felt like he had our best interest in mind the entire time. I felt like we received our money's worth too. I highly recommend calling Merlin with KingsGard Tree Service.
